Palm Oil Refining Process

The physical refining  is the preferred processing method  as it is more efficient.

This process involves degumming of the crude palm oil, bleaching, filtering and decolorizing at 265-270 oC

under a vacuum of 4 torr or below. The resultant refined, bleached and deodorized palm oil (RBDPO) can be used

as frying medium for the instant noodle industry and also for ice cream manufacturing. The RBDPO is further

fractionated to produce liquid fraction of RBD palm Olein, which is used as  domestic cooking oil. The solid RBD stearin is an excellent raw material  for making soap.
